AER 0010 - Beginning Automotive Service TechnologyThis course is designed with knowledge based and performance based standards for the automotive industry. Topics will include information on industry standards, manufacturer maintenance intervals, OSHA and EPA regulations and hands on skills required in today’s automotive industry. Manufactures service interval recommendations will be applied through inspections and performance of specific tasks. The routine maintenance, service and repair procedures and standard time allotments for service and repairs will be researched using electronic information systems. The need for regular automotive servicing is stressed and compared to types of equipment failures that may occur from a neglect of recommended automotive servicing. The knowledge skills represent theory of the topics and support the mastery of the performance-based skills for this topic. Prerequisites AER 0936 Contact Hours: 90 Workforce Credits: 3 |
